Stansberry’s Credit Opportunities editor Mike DiBiase believes the Fed’s inflation-fighting strategy will lead to a prolonged economic downturn…
I quote.
“We are living in strange times...
Investors celebrate when the latest inflation number comes in a few tenths of a percentage below expectations. The stock market roars.
On the other hand, a couple tenths of a percent in the wrong direction sends the markets plunging.
Investors cannot see the forest for the trees.
What investors are missing is that inflation is still sky-high. In the latest reading of the Consumer Price Index, prices rose 7.1% from a year ago. That’s still a faster pace than any time in 40 years.
What difference do a few percentage points make?“
Mike DiBiase adds, “Credit cycles are a “normal” part of the economy. A full-blown credit crisis occurs about once a decade. The last one was [from] 2008 to 2009. The one before that was in 2001. So we’re overdue.“
Close quote.
My wife and I were born and raised in hurricane country, the Texas Gulf Coast. Hurricanes are enormously destructive. Coastal residents always have days to prepare for evacuation.
How can we prepare for a humdinger of a recession more devastating than any in all our history?
Daniel 9:13-14 “As it is written in the Law of Moses, all this calamity has come upon us; yet we have not entreated the favor of the Lord our God, turning from our iniquities and gaining insight by your truth. Therefore the Lord has kept ready the calamity and has brought it upon us, for the Lord our God is righteous in all the works that he has done, and we have not obeyed his voice.”
Ecclesiastes 7:12 “For the protection of wisdom is like the protection of money, and the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom preserves the life of him who has it.”
How do you acquire wisdom? First and foremost, do not ignore reality by rejecting wisdom.
Proverbs 22:7 “The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender.”
Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”
