I refer you to a previous blog post titled Mexico’s president meets with Biden on border policy 7/12/22 to view a Fox Business video of the meeting between US President Joe Biden and Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO).
Both presidents were obviously scripted, as were the translators. The exception was Joe Biden’s interruptions to comment on the pretty woman operating the camera, something completely in character for Joe.
While the Biden administration labors to destroy the American petroleum business, he is obviously working to support the Mexican state-owned petroleum business, PEMEX. AMLO thanked Biden for allowing PEMEX to purchase 50.003% of the formerly Shell Martinez Refinery in Deer Park, Texas. PEMEX is the effective owner and PEMEX people will be in charge of the facility.
Do understand that Shell is not an American company. The Shell Martinez Refinery has actually been a 30-year joint venture between Shell and PEMEX.
Although Texas is a Right-to-Work state, the international Royall Dutch Shell corporation has union agreements. Now you know why the labor unions stand with Joe Biden.
AMLO seeks to remove a bunch of pesky regulations, rules, and tariffs.
Another troublesome point AMLO stated and obviously, Joe Biden agrees with is “a private/public investment plan between our two countries to produce all those goods”. What is the implication?
PEMEX is a state-owned industry. Progressives in our country are inherently socialistic in worldview. Ownership of manufacturing is right in line with Marxism.
AMLO delights in pushing back on those pesky conservatives that stand in Biden’s way. You don’t believe me? I quote AMLO:
“I know that your adversaries, the conservatives, are going to be screaming all over the place, even to Heaven. They’re going to be yelling at Heaven. But without a daring, bold program of development and wellbeing, it will not be possible to solve problems. It will not be possible to get the people’s support. In the face of this crisis, the way out is not through conservatism. The way out is through transformation. We have to be bold in our actions. Transform, not maintain the status quo.“
What is the general character of progressives? On the political spectrum, they are generally on the left or left of center. Likewise, on the spiritual spectrum, progressives, posing as Christians, would be described as liberals, meaning they do not adhere to traditional Christian doctrines and values. Progressives eschew the Rule of Law, promote homosexuality, and support abortion on demand. Joe Biden is a classic progressive, as is AMLO.
AMLO’s proposed gas pipeline from Mexico to the border states, including Texas, would be fully under federal control. Texas would have no authority over its construction or its operation.
Finally, you must understand that all ratified treaties become the Supreme Law of the Land.
