Mario’s message is shocking to me but I know Mario Murillo’s ministry very well.
I became a Republican in 1980.
I voted for Jimmy Carter. I campaigned for Jimmy Carter. I did so because we had much in common. We were both Southern Baptists. We were both ordained Southern Baptist Deacons. We both taught Sunday School (Bible classes). We were both southern Democrats. As he did all the stupid things he did, I realized he and I had little in common.
My wife and I were born and raised in South Texas, she in the Rio Grande Valley, and I up the coast in Matagorda County.
We knew no Republicans. All the highly respected leaders in our respective communities were Democrats, the priests and the pastors, the teachers and the business leaders, and themerchants. Our society was segregated, whites from blacks. Mexican-Americans were considered white people, by the way.
I bear no illusions of perfect piety in the Republican Party. There are unholy Republicans, but the majority of the GOP are people like me who fear God, support Israel, love our neighbors, contribute to humanitarian causes, and attend Bible-teaching God-praising churches.
I wondered. When did the evil overtake the Democratic Party?
From my youth until 1974, I was neither Baptist nor Catholic. In fact, I held no religious affiliation whatsoever, but there was an innate sense within me that God was real. In short, I was an ordinary heathen.
Late one Sunday night, mid-August 1974, God revealed Himself to me through a personal encounter. I was forever a changed man. The process of change continues today. In Christianity what happened to me is called being born again. Eight months earlier, a momentous change in America began when the Burger Supreme Court opined on Roe v. Wade in favor of the plaintiff, unconstitutionally creating new law out of thin air.
Before Roe v. Wade, the general ideological boundary separating Republicans and Democrats was business owners versus organized labor. In 2022, organized labor unions remain a major influence on the Democratic Party. But, other hitherto unthinkable forces emerged to control the Democratic Party: atheism, Marxism, and fascism.
The Johnson Amendment, adopted in 1954 to the Internal Revenue Code, 501(c)(3), requires churches to refrain from participating in political campaigns if they want to keep their tax-exempt status.
The Black Robed Regiment, an influential force in the American Revolution, became a thing of the past. A renaissance of the Black Robed Regiment is underway as you read this.
Wise men, wise in the way of politics and foreign relations, expect an all-out nuclear war. Russia has sophisticated hypersonic nuclear missiles. Russia has more nuclear weapons than our U.S.A.
My expectation? War will break out. This is inevitable. Russia has always been willing to sacrifice its troops and its farmers. Their reliance is on technologies that do not run from the battle and that have no mothers that will not cry out against Moscow when the technical equipment gets shot down.
God spoke an irrevocable blessing on Israel, saying, “I will bless those who bless you [Israel], And I will curse him who curses you; And in you [Israel] all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Genesis 12:3 NLJV
Sadly, the BLM riots and pro-abortion riots that both escape criminal prosecution by the Biden Department of Justice bear witness to the fact that the Democratic Party is of Satan.
God will save Israel and God will save America. We will not escape war, famine, or shortages, or essential medicines, and essential energy. Nonetheless, God will save America and the next great move of God will probably not be on Azusa Street in California or at the ORU campus in Oklahoma. Speaking to Christians, what would you think if God next moves in Rockwall, Texas?
The apparent civil war dividing our country in 2022 is not along political lines; it’s an all-out take-no-prisoners war between Satan and God. God will win.
