In 1988, the NY Times declared, “Global warming has begun.” Later, in 1995, this same NY Times predicted, “The majority of East Coast beaches could be gone by 2020.” Still earlier, in 1970, ecologist Kenneth Watt predicted global cooling that would lower the temperature by 20 degrees by 2020.
The false climate prophets like Al Gore and Kenneth Watt remind me of the story of The Blind Men and the Elephant. Six blind men examined an elephant from different points of access. Each developed a false idea of the shape of the elephant.
Another example of a false climate prophet. In 2000, climate scientist David Viner predicted snow was going to become almost extinct in England. What happened? On Feb. 27, 2018, the U.K. Express reported, “London has been hit by a wall of snow in a huge blizzard as the UK is rocked by bone-chilling temperatures, ice and wintry weather from the ‘Beast from the East’. The snow fell lightly at first but quickly picked up speed as forecasters warned the freezing Siberian winds gripping Britain could be the coldest the UK has faced in 27 years.”
For the day of my granddaughter’s wedding, the local weatherman forecast a hot 95 degrees but for the entire day, the outdoor temperature did not rise above the high 70s.
The earth is a very big planet. According to modern estimates, the surface area of the Earth is approximately 510 million square km (5.1 x 108 km2) or 196,900,000 square miles. Determining this was not only a matter of ascertaining Earth’s dimensions but also its proper shape. It is not a perfect sphere and the highest point on earth relative to the center of the earth is not Mount Everest but Mount Chimborazo in Ecuador. Chimborazo is 2,000 meters, 6,561 feet, farther from the center of the Earth than Everest.
Over the years, 1974 to 2017, my business was totally measurement and control systems. In order to accurately record the temperature of a stream of air, we measure and record the temperatures of each square foot. How long would it take to make 196,900,000 measurements at 30 seconds per measurement? One technician could complete the job in about 4,102,083 24-hour days, assuming he takes no time off.
The temperatures (plural) of the earth’s surface are not static. But dynamic, rising over 10 hours and falling over 14 hours each day. You can understand how satellite measurements are by no means definitive.
Any attempt to capture the instantaneous temperatures per square foot would produce an outcome similar to the story of the blind men and the elephant.
Regardless of global warming or global cooling, humans are able to adapt to climate changes. At the moment I write, the local temperature in my North Texas neighborhood is 85 oF at 1130 hours CST. But my neighbor is much cooler at his mountain retreat in Colorado.
There are 60 supervolcanoes around the world. The most dangerous is Yellowstone Park. The eruption of just one supervolcano can disrupt weather in either the northern or the southern hemisphere for several years.
A politician recently said in an interview that carbon dioxide is a pollutant. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a natural mineral and one component of the life-giving carbon cycle. What is the Carbon Cycle? The carbon cycle is nature’s way of recycling carbon atoms. Carbon is the foundation for all life on Earth.
The proof mankind does not cause climate change rests in the fact there is nothing mankind can do to alter the atmospheric gasses blamed for climate change.
How can you be prepared for climate change? Dress warmly in the winter and use sunscreen in the summer.

well, that was quite an example of someone who has no clue about climate and climate change. Climate is not weather and unsurprisingly, you find you must attack old information.

this is quite the lie. Humans can do quite a bit to alter the gasses blamed for climate change. We have released billions of tons of carbon from fossil fuels into the atmosphere, that took billions of years to sequester. This has been done in the last 150 years or so. When carbon was sequested little by little over billoins of years and the time span to release it was less than 0.000001% of the time took to sequester it, there is going to be a problem.
all you have is the false claim that since there are volcanoes, humans can’t do anything.

Thank you for reading my blogs, Vel. In order to communicate with a population, it is essential to use common language and terminology. The contemporary false flag is ‘climate alarmism’. The terms have ranged from global cooling to global warming. Specious pieces of evidence of humans destroying your mother earth have been melting glaciers, ozone holes, hurricanes, and even rising tides.
You misunderstand the point about volcanoes. The eruption of ONE supervolcano will alter life on earth forever. The temperature of the core of the earth compares with the temperature of the photosphere of the sun, ~10,000 degrees F.
A scientist whom I have known all his life says, “I found it because I believed it was there.”

Now, funny how the ozone hole has gotten better after humans stopped using the chemicals that destroy ozone. And funny how glaciers are melting, the weather is harder to predict, sea levels are rising, etc, exactly like the theory of climate change predicts.
Yep, the eruption of one supervolcano will indeed alter life on earth forever. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try to stop the problem humans are causing. Again, you try to claim that since there are supervolcanoes, humans should do nothing at all when they can indeed do something to stop the problem we are causing. You fail using your utopia fallacy.

Vel, I want you to know important facts like the chemical equator, why there is no horizontal wind at the equator, how the hemispheres are chemically isolated one from the other, and so much more.
Your criticisms demonstrate there is much you don’t know but probably want to know.
For example, hurricanes form between the 10 and 20 degrees of latitude on either side of the equator. Why do hurricanes never cross the equator?
What causes the depletion of ozone over Antarctica?
Knowledge is power. Knowledge is liberating, too.
