NT State Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul Got What She Wanted — Now, She Doesn’t Want What She Got!

“When economic power became concentrated in a few hands, then political power flowed to those possessors and away from the citizens, ultimately resulting in an oligarchy or tyranny.”— John Adams

INTRODUCTION

In a public speech in August 2022, Kathy Hochul, the brilliant [sic] Democrat governor of New York State, urged conservative Republicans to get out of New York. Hear her words recorded in this YouTube video titled “Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) tells conservatives to get out of New York..

And what happened?

It’s an escape from New York.

More than 125,000 New Yorkers have fled for Florida in recent years — taking nearly $14 billion worth of income out of the Empire State, a new report found.

About a third of those Big Apple residents — some 41,251 — flocked to sunny Miami-Dade, Palm Beach and Broward Counties, over a five-year period, according to data from the Citizens Budget Commission, a nonpartisan New York-based fiscal watchdog.

Escapes to those three counties alone between 2018 and 2022 resulted in an approximately $10 billion reduction in New York City’s adjusted gross income.

Rein noted the percentage of New Yorkers who said life in the city was “good or excellent” dropped from 50% pre-pandemic to just 30% last year.

“That’s a significant drop. We need New Yorkers to want to be here, and right now they’re saying the quality of life is not what they want,” he said.

Many of those departing were high-wage earners, stripping the city of additional economic activity, the report found.

HOCHUL CHANGES HER MIND

Why does Democrat Governor Hochul now want wealthy former New Yorkers to return to New York State? In her own words, learn the answer to the question from a YouTube video, March 18, 2026, titled “Kathy Hochul humiliatingly begs New York’s richest to return after fleeing Mamdani’s high taxes.

Why the change of mind?

Hochul, who faces re-election in November, has made the pitch defending high-earners to shore up the state’s tax base in recent weeks as Mamdani and his “tax the rich” crew of lefty lawmakers demand she further jack up income taxes.

The governor was particularly poking at the group “Patriotic Millionaires” in her remarks last week, after the tax-loving lefty group got behind Mamdani’s push for an additional 2% citywide income tax on those making more than a million dollars and other proposals to squeeze more money out of New Yorkers such as lower the estate tax threshold.

Hizzoner wants to use funds raised by the tax hike to help pay for his democratic socialist wishlist and cover the $5.4 billion budget gap he claims the city faces.

What do Kathy Hochul’s and Zohran Mandami’s goals reveal to thinking Americans?

Socialists, communists, Marxists, Islamists, and leftist Americans have no understanding of capitalism. Socialism, communism, Marxism, and Islamism have no understanding whatsoever of natural economics. Unlike the aforementioned leftist economic theories, capitalism was invented by no one. The leftists, lacking this critical understanding, strive to create an economy based on theories. Capitalism is no more theoretical than breathing.

What is capitalism? It is an economic system in which investment in and ownership of the means of production and distribution are privately or corporately owned. Capitalism is an economic system in which investment in and ownership of the means of production, distribution, and exchange of wealth is made and maintained chiefly by private individuals or corporations, esp. as contrasted with cooperatively or state-owned means of wealth.

The Sherman Anti-Trust Act prohibits any agreement among competitors to fix prices, rig bids, or engage in other anticompetitive activity. Criminal prosecution of Sherman Act violations is the responsibility of the Antitrust Division of the United States Department of Justice. Violation of the Sherman Act is a felony punishable by, for corporations, a fine of up to $100 million, and for individuals, a fine of up to $1 million or 10 years’ imprisonment (or both).

Department of Justice, An Antitrust Primer—PRICE FIXING, BID RIGGING, AND MARKET ALLOCATION SCHEMES: WHAT THEY ARE AND WHAT TO LOOK FOR

In the aforementioned leftist economies, price fixing and bid rigging are de rigueur. Our American capitalist free-market system leaves pricing and values of goods and services to the people, not to the government.

Action on Closing

Be an informed voter. Know your constitutionally protected natural rights. One of the leading people in Cuba’s revolt against Spanish rule was José Martí, who wisely said, “The first duty of a man is to think for himself.”

Learn for yourself the horrific outcomes of communist countries.

Think for yourself.
