Want Democracy? I Don’t Think That Word Means What You Think It Means.

Democracies

All laws, policies, and policymakers are chosen by majority vote. A democracy exercises majority rule. Even a casual survey of historical democracies will reveal to you how one political party ultimately takes control. Some scholarly thinkers describe democracy as mob rule. In a pure democracy, there is no protection of the rights of a minority.

Let’s look for contemporary examples of countries that claim to have democracies.

China: from the Constitution of the People’s Republic of China, Preamble – “In 1949, after engaging in protracted, arduous and tortuous struggles, armed and in other forms, the Chinese people of all ethnic groups led by the Communist Party of China with Chairman Mao Zedong as its leader finally overthrew the rule of imperialism, feudalism, and bureaucrat-capitalism, won a great victory in the New Democratic Revolution, and founded the People’s Republic of China. The Chinese people thus secured power and became masters of their own country.”

Reality Check: The Communist Chinese Party (CCP) is the master of China. Contrary to the CCP’s constitution, the Chinese people are not the masters of their own country. It is a collectivist society.

Germany: Post-WW1 Germany was a multi-party democracy. One of the parties was the NAZI party. After the NAZI party became the majority power, it outlawed all other political parties. The NAZI party enforced collectivism.

Russia: The Russian constitution asserts it is the framework of a democratic society that upholds human rights and freedoms. In practice, oligarchs control the country. Although there is entrepreneurship and a somewhat open market, Russia is mostly a collectivist society where the needs of the state and the oligarchs who rule the state come before the needs of the common people. As Putin rose to power, he notoriously imprisoned or poisoned his political opponents. As you will discern from the language in the Russian constitution, ‘fatherland’ is the clue it is a collectivist society.

I quote from a YouTube video titled They Crossed the Line | Voddie Baucham, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris

“Our system of government is not a democracy and that democracy is actually an extremely problematic and dangerous form of government. We are citizens of a republic.” [Minute 3:13-3:22]

“Democracy is the cruelest form of government known to man. It is not a Biblical concept. It is not an American concept. It is not a wise concept. It is a foolish concept. We are a constitutional representative republic.” [minute 3:37-3:51]

Republics

The word republic comes from the Latin words res (thing) and publica (public). In the preamble to the U.S. Constitution, the first three words express this idea of government being “the people’s thing”: We the People.

A true republican form of government emphasizes individuality, the worth, the importance, of each citizen.

Contrast Democracy and Republic

Collectivism reflects an oriental mindset while individualism reflects an occidental mindset. The occidental mindset, the occidental worldview, is a product, a consequence, of western civilization. All we know as western civilization is due to Christianity.

The outlaw mobs who recently sought to intimidate conservative Supreme Court Justices, ostensibly clamoring for legal and unrestricted abortions of babies, are actually railing against Christianity. Even the leftist mainstream media acknowledges the protests are against Christians.

I reference another YouTube video related to the aforementioned video titled Tucker: This is about attacking Christianity

Minute 9:48 | MSNBC ” The Christian right’s decades-long push to revoke abortion rights is just part of their broader agenda… This is not just about abortion. This is about a much broader set of issues that are really about a kind of white Christian right worldview…”

Pastor Voddie Baucham, a black man, understands the spiritual war underway in America and he understands why churches and their leaders must not idly stand by as America the beautiful goes down in flames.
