Our Platform
The Texas State Republican Party Platform is built on grassroots ‘planks’ proposed by Republican voters at Precinct Conventions, County and Senate District Conventions, and the State Republican Convention, the largest political caucus in the entire country.
In addition to the grassroots planks, the Platform includes our party’s principles and priorities.
We, the Republican Voters, construct our platform to guide our lawmakers in the Texas House and the Texas Senate. This also a guide for our Republican Governor, Greg Abbott.

Murky future for vouchers in Texas
Following a pivotal Texas House vote that likely has halted progression on school voucher legislation, it’s unclear what next steps, if any, there are when it comes to one of Governor Greg Abbott’s top legislative priorities.
On Friday, the Texas House took its most direct vote on the issue, with representatives voting 84-63 to strip a voucher program out of an expansive education bill. Read more
The Big Lie
The big lie underlying the TSTA’s attack on the Republican Platform can be read in full here. An excerpt: “Abbott has billionaire donors hounding him to open up Texas education to for-profit speculators. So, we’re back for a fourth special session so Abbott can again try to appease the men who hold his purse strings.”
The truth: Governor Abbott, our Republican Governor, follows and supports the Platform of the Republican Party. What are my credentials? I represented Senate District 2 on the 2022 Texas State GOP Platform Committee. All 31 representatives are named on page one of the Platform.

It’s clear we’re not getting what we want from the incumbent while he’s in Austin. He has shown that his priorities don’t align with ours and it’s time to send someone new.
