Academic Freedom Under Fire

St. Philip’s College in San Antonio, Texas, fired Dr. Johnson Varkey, a former adjunct professor who taught biology at the institution for nearly 20 years, for teaching there are only two sexes, male and female, and life begins at conception.

St. Philip’s College is one of five academies in the Alamo Colleges District serving Bexar County, Texas. The ‘D’ in the word District means it is a government institution funded by Bexar County taxpayers.

Dr. Johnson Varkey is a Christian. Dr. Varkey’s faith is important to this discussion. The Christian faith is a unique cornerstone of Western culture.I’ve been teaching for that school for the last 20 years and without any complaints,” he said to CBN News. “So, I was shocked to see that [termination] letter.”

There are four basic patterns to human organization. (i) Leave all alone and live with chaos and civic anarchy. (ii) Centralized planning by a tyrannical regime. (iii) Tribal. (iv) Judeo-Christian system of ancient Israel that created Western Civilization in general and the United States in particular.

The Law

The U.S. Constitution, Article VI: “This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land.”

The U.S. Constitution, Amendment I: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press …”

The Declaration of Independence, second paragraph: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed”

An organization’s policies do not trump the Supreme Law of the Land. The Alamo College District is a government. As such, the first duty of Alamo College District is to secure Professor Varkey’s inalienable right to the freedom of speech.

Summary

Homosexuals strategically coopt the civil rights movement to present their unnatural sexual behaviors as being ‘persecuted.’ Being a black-skinned person is not the same as being a homosexual. Skin pigmentation is natural. Homosexuality is unnatural. Homosexuals adopted the LGBTQ++ spectrum, pan homosexuality that embraces pederasty, pedophilia, and bestiality. The DEI movement only serves the interests of homosexuals while pretending to represent all persons who are not Christian. DEI is atheism.

  1. Yep, professors get fired for lying. Some christians don’t mind lies, as long as their false claims are being pushed. That’s always amusing since their god supposedly hates lies and liars.

    It’s always great when christians don’t want to be responsible for their actions. But that comes from a religion where they can off load any responsiblity onto a blood sacrifice by torture. The idea that someone else would be punished for my actions instead of me is reprehensible and cowardly.

He can’t hide behind “nature” since he has no idea what it actually shows. It’s rather fun thta he has to run to a pagan’s baseless claims rather than his own nonsense.

      1. Regarding my prayers, I do not pray to people. My prayers are my line of communication with the Creator of the Universe, El Shaddai, Elohim. Therefore, my prayers have no direct effect on anyone. However, God knows precisely where you are and precisely what you need. It’s your choice to respond to Him.

        Funny how your bible says that prayers affect people all of the time directly and indirectly, so your attempts to excuse your failure are amusing.
