An Excerpt of The Parting Words of Jesus Christ: Mark 16:17-18 MEV:
“These signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.“
We who have served on missions to other countries and seen all the above miraculous demonstrations of the power of God rarely, if ever, see such demonstrations here in our own country.
WHY?
A four-word answer: “because of their unbelief.”
• Matthew 13:58 And He [Jesus Christ] did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
• Mark 6:6 And He [Jesus Christ] was amazed because of their unbelief.
Acts 16:22-40 features the story of Paul and Silas being beaten, bound, and unlawfully thrown into prison, with their feet in stocks.
Late, at midnight, Paul and Silas openly and audibly worshiped God. Suddenly, an earthquake shook the prison, freeing the prisoners and opening all the doors.
I have personally seen miracles firsthand:
- A blind woman instantly regained her sight. (Monterey, Mexico)
- A lame man was healed. (San Miguel, El Salvador)
- A woman’s curvature of the spine was instantly healed. (Rockwall, TX)
- A badly damaged ankle was instantly healed. (Rockwall, TX)
- Critical hypertension was instantly cured. (Richardson, TX)
- There were more.
The only impediment to experiencing miracles today is unbelief.
