Bible Study: “Never Again” — The Samson Option

What was the Holocaust?

“The Holocaust was the attempt by Nazi Germany and its collaborators to murder the Jews of Europe.

During the six years of World War II, systematic, bureaucratic, state-sponsored, and government-organized persecution and oppression resulted in the deaths of six million European Jews from across the continent.”

Back To The Bible — Judges 13:1-16:30

In summary, Samson was a Nazarite from his birth. God knew Samson would not adhere to the Nazarite practice and used him to destroy the enemies of Israel. Samson falls in love with a Philistine woman named Delilah, who seduces him into revealing the source of his strength, his long hair. While Samson slept, Delilah cut off his hair before calling for the Philistine men to capture him. His eyes were gouged out, and he was made a beast of burden. The Philistines decided to use him as a spectacle of ridicule at a huge banquet where Samson placed hands on two pillars upholding the temple of Dagon. Because his hair had regrown, his strength returned. With a mighty heave, Samson toppled the columns, causing the entire structure to fall upon the Philistines, killing them all, Samson among the dead.

‘Never Again’ will the Israelites submit to mass murder by their enemies.

How Will The Samson Option Playout?

First and foremost, the Jews were and are the Chosen people of God, as recorded in Exodus 19:5, Deuteronomy 7:6-8, Deuteronomy 14:2, Deuteronomy 26:17-19, 2 Samuel 7:23-24, 1 Kings 8:53, 1 Kings 10:9, 1 Chronicles 17:20-21, Psalms 105:8-15, Psalms 135:4, Isaiah 41:8, Isaiah 44:21, Ezekiel 36:24-28, Ezekiel 37:21-25, Joel 3:1-2, Amos 3:1-2, Romans 11:1-2, and Hebrews 8:8-13.

The words forever, chosen, and covenant (new and old) serve to underscore the fact the Jews were and are forever the chosen people of God. For the reader who may subscribe to the theory that Christians have replaced the Jews, I point to 1 Peter 2:9 and Romans 11:24. In this latter verse, the Apostle Paul uses the analogies of an olive tree to affirm that God’s chosen people, the Jews and the Christians are who grafted into the cultivated olive tree, the Jewish people, constitute the grand total of God’s chosen people. Christians do not replace the Jews; Christians become one with the Jews.

Israel, unlike all other Middle Eastern nations, is not a backwater colony of hapless desert dwellers. Israel’s population has some of the smartest minds on the Earth. Israel’s armaments — its high-tech military systems — are the most sophisticated in the world. In 2023, Israel’s exports of military equipment hit a record of $13.1 billion, as reported by Reuters, June 17, 2024.

As reported by Ynet News on June 17, 2024, Israel has 90 nuclear warheads, and launching capabilities from land, air, and sea,  and can “deploy nuclear bombs from F-16I and F-15 jets, Jericho missiles and possibly from its Dolphin-class submarines; Still, Israel  maintains a policy of nuclear ambiguity.
