Ellicott’s Commentary for English ReadersIII.
(1-15) A hymn describing a future self-manifestation of Jehovah on Israel’s behalf, accompanied by the signs and wonders of the early history. It is impossible to give the English reader an idea of the rhythmical structure of this beautiful composition. We will only observe that it is independent of the arrangement in verses and that the poem (except in Habakkuk 3:7-8; Habakkuk 3:13, fin.) consists of lines, each containing exactly three words.
(1) Upon Shigionoth. —This term points not to the contents of the composition but either to its metrical structure or its musical setting. See the Inscription of Psalms 7. Inasmuch as this ode is throughout an account of the deliverance anticipated by prayerful faith, it is called not a Psalm, mizmôr, but a Prayer, t’philtâh.
What does the word worship mean to you?
“Yet the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. For the Father seeks such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and truth.” — John 4:23-24 MEV
Worship
Strong’s Concordance 4352 proskuneó, from 4314 pros and a probable derivative of 2965 (κύων, dog) (meaning to kiss, like a dog licking his master’s hand); to fawn or crouch to, i.e. (literally or figuratively) prostrate oneself in homage (do reverence to, adore):–worship.
The adjective effective means 1. able to accomplish a purpose; 2. adequate to accomplish a purpose; producing the intended or expected result.
Prayer is Paying Attention to God
There is a significant difference between thinking and paying attention in the pursuit of a solution to a problem or situation. Learn from a post titled Carnal Thinking vs. Paying Attention.
What can we do?
Be lanterns of hope to our neighbors, family members, and people with whom we have personal encounters. Yes, God is angry at the sins of our people. As in the time of Habakkuk, America is not immune from the wrath of God.
You have a life-changing story people need to hear. Learn to tell your story, as per 1 Peter 3:15.
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do men light a candle and put it under a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” — Matthew 5:14-16

What is Dr. Amen’s prescription? “Go back to church. Get involved. Get involved with groups. We have to go back. And really, no better place to solve it than the church.”
