Rockwall ISD trustees say they “oppose any state voucher plan, tax credits, taxpayer savings grants, tuition reimbursements, or any program that diverts public tax dollars to private school entities.” Diverts? An interesting verb choice.
What is the meaning of the word public?

Polls indicate a majority of Americans support school choice, particularly here in the Lone Star State.
The trustees are acting against the will of the majority of the taxpayers within the boundary of the school district.
The school district trustees seem to hold a naïve belief that our tax dollars should only be used to sustain the school district, a governmental entity. No, trustees, those tax dollars are not your dollars; they are our dollars.
