What was Christopher Columbus’s goal?
Thus a great number of interests were involved in this adventure, which was, in essence, the attempt to find a route to the rich land of Cathay (China), to India, and to the fabled gold and spice islands of the East by sailing westward over what was presumed to be open sea. The name Christopher is of Greek origin and means “bearer of Christ” or “Christ-bearer.” It is derived from the Greek words “christos” meaning “anointed” and “phero” meaning “to bear or carry.” Christopher is a name associated with Christianity and is often interpreted as someone who carries or brings Christ’s message of love, compassion, and salvation to others.

Christopher Columbus introduced Christianity to the Western Hemisphere. Yes, indigenous people were targeted for their hedonistic practices like human sacrifice and child sacrifices, practices unacceptable to Bible-believing Christians.
Western civilization is a consequence of Christianity. I do not suggest we apologize for following the guidance of Jesus Christ. We also adhere to the teachings of His church.
Our people are ignorant of our common history. They are falsely indoctrinated by public education. As a result, they believe the so-called indigenous people lived noble lives. Well, truthfully, that was so for some of them. There were, are, and continue to this day, civilized indigenous tribes. A great many indigenous people were criminals, enemies of the civilized tribes. Most descendants of so-called indigenous people groups are bankers, lawyers, or business tycoons. They are also moms, dads, teachers, doctors, and nurses serving their communities. They are also Bible teachers, pastors, and leaders of local Christian congregations.
Central air, HEB grocery stores, and reliable automobiles beat the primitive lifestyles so many uninformed Americans praise today.
What should an atheistic, left-wing rebel do?
I suggest such persons get to know Christians. Ask them questions. Challenge their faith in Jesus Christ. Ignorance is a choice. Choose wisely.
There has never been a people group that has not conquered another people group. When Christianity was introduced to the Americas by Christopher Columbus, the Spanish conquerors ended pagan rituals. These included human sacrifice and child sacrifice.
Indigineous peoples day is a denial of our common history. We honor Christopher Columbus. In fact, even our nation’s capital was named for him. D.C. stands for District of Columbia. Historical revisionism is a tool of tyrants who wish to undermine our American freedoms and the Rule of Law. One leftist theory is heralded in a book titled 1619. In 2019, historical revisionists successfully changed A.D. (ano domino, the year of our Lord) to CE (common era). BC (before Christ) was changed to BCE (before the common era). I choose to preserve our true history. I continue using A.D. and B.C.
