Last weekend, my wife and I eagerly paid admission to tour the American Journey Museum in Las Colinas.
Upon arrival, I learned that my wife and I were denied entry. Inside the Jaco Booyens Ministries lobby were two official signs prohibiting firearms, concealed or openly carried. There is no mention of Jaco Booyens’ anti-gun stance on his website. I did not know this until we arrived to tour the museum.
Many people believe they can post a sign to prevent crimes. First of all, honest people do not commit crimes. Second, criminals ignore signs. When a business posts the 30.06 and 30.07 signs, only criminals will have guns on the premises.
Common Sense Contrast
All visitors are treated as suspects upon entering the Texas State Capitol. Licensed-To-Carry (LTC) Texans walk in easily as their licenses are quickly scanned.
Last year, 2023, there was a shooting incident on the Texas State Fairgrounds. No, the shooter was not a licensed-to-carry person. The shooter was an outlaw. How did he gain entry with a firearm? All who are not LTC must pass through metal detectors. How did the outlaw get through with his gun? He had a personal relationship with one of the gatekeepers. This is common on the southern border. For this reason, the Border Patrol randomly moves personnel from one booth to another.
Observations
You enter the American Journey Experience through the Jaco Booyens Ministries lobby. The American Journey Experience is a service of Glenn Beck. Is Glenn Beck a rabid anit-gunner who is unaware of the history of LTC Texans? I listen to Glenn on 570 AM radio. I often view his videos. I assumed he was one of us common-sense Texans licensed to carry firearms for self-defense. Perhaps I assume incorrectly.
