School Board and Bond Elections Are No Longer Non-Partisan — Here’s Why

Justin Holland and his ‘fraternity’ oppose School Choice, the key legislation in 2023. Who are his ‘fraternity’ members? There are several, but let’s focus on the Rockwall ISD people who publicly endorse Justin: (left to right) Linda Duran, Sherry Packer, Frank Conselman, Stan Britton, and Amy Hilton.

Justin said he opposes School Choice. He cites two reasons.

  • First, he says, people move to Rockwall for the schools. He implies that RISD is an excellent school system and this is a major attraction to families outside the RISD jurisdiction.
  • Second, he opposes school vouchers because it would drain money from RISD.

An obvious contradiction to the most casual observer. If he, and his ‘fraternity’ are genuinely confident of the quality of education in this district, why fear losing money to families that would choose another educational venue?

Until now, school board and bond elections have been considered non-partisan. No more. This is a partisan issue. Democrats and neocons oppose School Choice. Freedom-loving Republicans favor School Choice. Furthermore, Republicans support freedom of choice for all things within the realm of the Rule of Law.

What is a Neocon? May I introduce you?

Why The School Choice Plank?

The School Choice issue is a statewide issue. I was on the 2022 Republican Platform Committee that crafted the present party platform.

No, this platform plank was not driven by the performance of Rockwall ISD. In fact, in case you missed it, Rockwall is generally a wealthy county. At this point, robust homeschool communities are prevalent in Rockwall County and throughout the state. Some families elect one of the private schools in Rockwall County. How do they do it? All the families who have chosen to educate their children through homeschooling and private school can afford to do so.

The School Choice addresses the poor quality of education in the large, Democrat-run metropolitan areas of the state: Dallas County, Travis County, Harris County, and Bexar County.

Here is a “for instance.”

The Dallas Express, February 4, 2024, Dallas ISD Teachers Uninterested in LGBTQ Program
Dallas ISD struggled to enroll teachers in its LGBTQ program — a failure one official described as “extremely frustrating,” according to email communications obtained through an open records request filed by The Dallas Express.

The emails revealed years of disappointment within Dallas ISD over the lack of enthusiasm from teachers to sign up for its Out for Safe Schools program, which it developed with the help of a local transgender clinic. The program was launched in 2018 and aims to instruct teachers on how to be LGBTQ student “allies.” The trainings were held in partnership with the Resource Center, which provides transgender hormones and clearance letters for sex alteration surgeries at its clinic on Cedar Springs Road.

Greed and Perversion Drive the LGBTQ Agenda

Regarding moral perversion, this issue has a stranglehold on the Democratic Party. The Texas State Teachers Association (TSTA/NEA), the Texas branch of the NEA, promotes and celebrates LGBTQ community, LGBTQ Pride Month, and the annual NEA LGBTQ Caucus.

Democrats and neocons who vigorously oppose School Choice are harming working families in the Democrat-run large metropolitan areas of Texas.

The Texas State Republican Party is much bigger than Rockwall County. Republicans watch over both local interests and statewide interests. Dennis London supports School Choice.
