Impeach Justice Clarence Thomas? Confucius Responds.

As of today, July 6, 2022, 700,000 people have signed a MoveOn.org petition to impeach Justice Clarence Thomas. Why? Is it because his wife is a white woman? Possibly. Is it because the Supreme Court reversed Roe v. Wade? You’re getting close. Exclusive rights for homosexuals? Bingo!

According to Newsweek Magazine, the MoveOn.org people focus on the January 6 Capitol insurrection. Perhaps focus is the wrong verb.

I quote the magazine article:

“The right-wing rigged Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last week, effectively taking away the right to privacy and bodily autonomy that’s been considered legal precedent for the past 50 years,” the updated petition reads.

“Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas— who sided with the majority on overturning Roe— made it clear what’s next: to overturn high court rulings that establish gay rights and contraception rights.”

What would The Gipper say about this bunch of loonies? I could guess. But I speak for myself.

The MoveOn.org people do not appear to be ignorant. Their thinking goes way beyond ignorant. Ignorance implies one’s thinking can be corrected with good information.

MoveOn.org claims to be a force for social justice and political progress. Breaking this down, they are progressives, people who eschew the Rule of Law. There is more or less to the story of MoveOn.org.

One petition (520 signers) advocates for the arrest of George Soros for inciting a riot and stopping Democracy in America. I found no petition for the arrest BLM rioters.

Another petition draws support for Black Lives Matter (BLM) because, “Police continue to hunt down Black folks in cities across America, and we refuse to sit silent“.

Another petition advocates for a fully federal-funded USPS because a demise of the postal service “would leave millions of Americans in the lurch and would wreak havoc for those who need to vote by mail“.

How does one describe MoveOn.org? I defer to Confucius: “The hardest thing of all is to find a black cat in a dark room, especially if there is no cat.”
