Question: Can illegal aliens or temporary residents register to vote in the State of Texas?
THE LIE HALFWAY OVER TEXAS
The Lie: “The Texas Secretary of State authorizes illegal aliens to vote.”
“A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.“

The saying above has been attributed to Mark Twain, Charles Spurgeon, and James Callaghan. I post it as Winston Churchill said it.

Statute text rendered on: 11/2/2023
The Texas Secretary of State recently published a statement authorizing our County Election Administrators to accept temporary state driver’s licenses or identification cards at polling places.
As we say in Texas, “All hell broke loose!” Immediately the lie that illegal aliens will be allowed to vote in Texas spread statewide before the truth could get its pants on!
All Texas elections involve two separate processes.
- the REGISTRATION process, followed by
- the VOTING process.
The Texas ELECTION CODE, CHAPTER 13 outlines the voter registration process. Click on the link and search “chapter 13” in the search box.
THE TRUTH PUTS ON ITS PANTS
Article IV, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution stipulates:
“The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government …“
What does the above text mean? It means the State of Texas and all Texas residents must follow the Rule of Law.
The Voting Process
Election Judges at all polling places have online access to the poll book. If a prospective voter is not listed in the poll book, the prospective voter can walk away or vote with a provisional ballot. The non-partisan Ballot Board determines the validity of the provisional ballot.
The Bottom Line
Only REGISTERED VOTERS are allowed to vote in the State of Texas.
State Law governs both the registration and the voting processes.
The highest statewide authority over elections is the Secretary of State.
In all 254 counties, the Elections Administrator has authority over both processes.
