Words Have Meanings
The verb conserve means to prevent injury, waste, or loss of; to keep in a safe or sound state.
A Conservative Christian keeps his theology and life practices within Biblical boundaries. i.e., the Ten Commandments, the teachings of Jesus.
A Conservative American Politician keeps his beliefs and actions within the fundamental boundaries of government, a principle articulated in the Declaration of Independence, the second paragraph: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed…“
A Conservative Lawmaker faithfully represents his constituents by crafting legislation to benefit those constituents. The conservative lawmaker supports legislation that aligns with the platform of his or her political party. Example: a Conservative Republican Lawmaker is governed by the Republican Party of Texas Platform. A Conservative Lawmaker opposes proposed legislation contrary to the principles, the priorities, and the planks of his or her party platform.
A Conservative Lawmaker yields to the will of the people of his party, the ‘grassroots’ constituents whom he or she represents. To represent means to stand or act in place of, as an agent or substitute, or on behalf of.
A Conservative Citizen (all lawmakers must be citizens) observes the Supreme Law of the Land, as described in Article VI (the 2nd clause) of the U.S. Constitution. For a law to be constitutional, it must be in pursuance of the Articles of the Constitution. This holds true for the Constitution of the State of Texas.

A Good Example is Texas State Senator Bob Hall (SD2), a stalwart Conservative Lawmaker who rigorously adheres to the planks, principles, and priorities of the Republican Party Platform.

A Bad Example is Texas Representative Justin Holland (HD33). KERA News reported on January 24, 2024: Rockwall Republican who voted to impeach Texas AG Ken Paxton faces opposition from own party
